Jewels, Surprises, and a Love Story to Remember: Gehna & Rahul’s Wedding Weekend
Some weddings just feel different. Right from the start, Gehna and Rahul’s celebrations were all about happiness, family, and little surprises tucked into every moment. From dance moves to emotional vows under cloudy skies, every part of their celebration felt personal and full of heart. Here's a glimpse into a wedding weekend that made us smile behind the camera all the way through
Kaleidoscope of Joy — Gehna & Rahul’s Mehendi in Full Bloom
The wedding celebrations kicked off with the happiest kind of chaos — Gehna and Rahul’s mehendi at St. Regis.
The space, brought to life by Larly Bahl, felt like you’d walked into a little Turkish bazaar — colourful trinkets, playful detailing, and the kind of vibrant energy that instantly made you want to join the party.
From her mehendi to her pheras, Gehna’s jewellery, crafted by Gehna Jewellers, reflected timeless elegance. She kept it easy and understated for the mehendi in a soft, dusty pink lehenga — simple, effortless, and just perfect for the kind of day where nothing mattered more than being in the moment with Rahul.
Gehna and Rahul made a gorgeous entry, all smiles, soaking it all in. And just when she thought the day couldn’t get any better, her friends surprised her with a performance that had her smiling from ear to ear
The rest of the day? Pure madness in the best way.
Friends dancing like there’s no tomorrow, laughter that echoed through the space, and moments that already felt like memories being made.
Legacy, Love, and a Wind that Listened — The Wedding Day
Gehna, being the Creative Director of Gehna Jewellers, wore some of the most stunning jewellery we’ve ever seen — each piece felt like it had its own little story. She looked absolutely classic in a Sabyasachi lehenga, while Rahul wore a custom Kunal Rawal sherwani that had sweet messages from his parents embroidered inside — a surprise he found out about right when he was getting ready. (Safe to say, everyone around him got a little emotional too.)
Waffle, their dog (and Gehna’s mom’s absolute favourite boy), was everywhere too — from the wedding invites to matching outfits. Honestly, he stole the show more than once.
Rahul’s Sherwani Surprise
Rahul’s sherwani wasn’t just custom-made — it carried something deeply personal.
On the morning of the wedding, as he got dressed with the help of his closest friends, he discovered something unexpected inside — messages embroidered from his parents, quietly stitched into the lining of his Kunal Rawal outfit.
A Mandap That Felt Like a Temple in the Sky
The mandap felt less like a setup, more like a sanctum. With its towering wooden pillars, cascading mogra strings, brass bells, and the striking mural of Ram and Sita, it instantly transported you — like standing inside a temple in the middle of the city.
Designed with so much detail and devotion, the space didn’t just look beautiful. It felt sacred
One of the sweetest parts was the first look — Gehna’s close friends saw her all dressed up for the first time, and it was pure joy in that room.
A Dhol-Fuelled Procession of Joy — Rahul’s Baraat Arrives in Style
While Gehna got ready in quiet joy, outside, Rahul’s baraat roared to life — a moving wave of music, dancing, and celebration. With every dhol beat, the energy built up like a rising festival, echoing through the hotel driveway and setting the tone for everything that followed.
A Pause Before the Aisle
Just before all eyes were on her, Gehna had one of the calmest, most intimate moments of the day — her father meeting her near the elevator— just a quiet pause, a deep breath, and a father reaching for his daughter’s hand.
A few steps shared in silence, holding a lifetime of memories between them.
While they were walking to the venue, I photographed them next a bronze sculpture by A. Ramachandran — a stylized female form, strong, grounded, and quietly powerful. With its temple-like posture and timeless grace, it almost felt like a silent witness to the moment — a modern-day goddess watching over a daughter about to step into a new chapter.
During the Gehna’s entry, Gehna’s mom couldn’t hold back her tears at the end of the aisle. She and Gehna’s dad walked her down the rest of the way together — and Rahul couldn’t stop smiling (and tearing up) when he saw her. Their pheras were full of smiles, laughs, promises, and the kind of happiness you can't stage even if you tried.
The Ceremony That Felt Like a Blessing
The pheras were straight out of a dream. It had been blazing just minutes before the ceremony, and everyone was quietly wondering how guests would sit through it. But the moment everyone settled, the sky shifted — clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and suddenly, it felt like the weather had aligned with the moment.
Hiral Kamani Garg led the pheras with music and meaning — explaining each step, each vow, and why it’s done. Not just a soundtrack, but a narrative that turned the ceremony into something everyone felt deeply.
The mandap, designed by FPD Events and envisioned in every detail by Gehna’s mom, was a space full of softness and presence — intimate, heartfelt, and rooted in tradition without feeling heavy. A setting that held the emotions just right.
The Stage, the Sound, and the After-Party That Never Ended
By the time the sangeet rolled around, it wasn’t just a event — it was a full-blown show. Held at the massive Jio World Convention Centre, the scale matched the energy: 15-20 people performing together, back-to-back choreography, and not a single dull moment on stage.
Rahul surprised Gehna with his own performance, and she brought the house down dancing with her girls. There was cheering, screaming, and the kind of crowd energy that feels more like a concert than a wedding event.
The party that forgot to end
No break, no wind-down — just a seamless shift from sangeet stage to dance floor.
The moment the last beat dropped at Jio World Convention Centre, the crowd rolled straight into party mode. Heels came off, spirits stayed high, and the playlist jumped from Govinda at 2 AM to sunrise Bollywood bangers with zero shame and full volume.
With energy still sky-high, the crowd partied under the stars until 6 AM—laughing, dancing, and making memories that blurred the lines between a wedding and a full-on festival.
It wasn’t just an after-party; it was proof that when this crew comes together, the night truly never ends.
Here’s a glimpse into everything Gehna & Rahul’s wedding was: the laughter, the chaos, the quiet in-between, and all the love that held it together.
