Esha & Karan’s Intimate Sundowner Wedding
A Decade-Long Friendship That Grew Into Forever
Some love stories don’t begin with fireworks—they begin with familiarity, comfort, and laughter. Esha and Karan first met at 18, introduced by a mutual friend during a summer break in Mumbai. What started as a platonic spark quickly grew into a deep friendship, and eventually, into a love so rooted, so certain, it didn’t need a timeline.
“Our bond was built on being there for each other. We were best friends long before we became partners. It’s what makes this relationship so strong,” — Esha
“With Esha, there was always this ease. We didn’t have to pretend. We were just... us,” — Karan”
Intentional Styling and Outfits That Told Their Story
Esha wore bespoke creations by Rhea Pillai Rastogi—each detail planned to reflect her personal style and the spirit of the day. Karan wore Grandfit by Riyaz Shaikh, rooted in his background as a musician.
“I always wanted a corset dress with a detachable trail and veil. Rhea went above and beyond. And that veil with our initials and our vow—‘nothing else, just us’—was everything,” — Esha
“I’m a metal musician at heart, so the outfit had to reflect that—moody, bold, with a deep red pocket square to tie it all together,” — Karan
The First Look That Said It All
One of the most emotional moments of the day was when Esha and Karan saw each other for the first time. Surrounded by soft light and the quiet buzz before the ceremony, that brief exchange of glances held everything—nerves, love, excitement, and the comfort of finding home in each other.
“The way he looked at me in that moment—I'll never forget it. It felt like the world paused just for us,” — Esha
“It hit me all at once—how far we’ve come, and how ready I was to walk into forever with her,” — Karan
Ditching Tradition for What Truly Felt Right
Esha and Karan knew from the get-go: a conventional wedding wasn’t for them. No pheras, no baraat, no dhol. Just a quiet, heartfelt ceremony with their closest loved ones.
“We wanted our wedding to reflect how we want to grow old together—intentionally, authentically, and a little differently,” — Karan
A Ceremony Bathed in Sunset & Sentiment
Their wedding took place at Estella, by the beach, timed perfectly with the setting sun. Private vows, a ring exchange, a mangalsutra moment, and champagne to follow—it was the dream.
Private Vows, Just for Each Other
Esha and Karan chose to keep their vows private—a quiet exchange between two people deeply in love, away from the crowd, with only the ocean and the soft sound of curated music in the background. It was raw, personal, and deeply moving.
“We wrote our own vows and kept them between us. That moment was ours alone, and it made everything else melt away.” — Esha
“I wanted to speak to her, not just perform for an audience. Saying those words with just her in front of me—it was the most honest moment of my life.” — Karan
Moments That Will Stay Forever
The ceremony wasn’t just a blur of happy tears—it was full of little pauses and shared looks. And one memory stood out above the rest.
“That moment right after we said our vows, just the two of us watching the sunset—it’s etched in my heart forever,” — Karan
“We didn’t rush back to the party. We took a breath, soaked it in. It was the best decision ever,” — Esha
Champagne, Cheers & It's Party Time!
After their sunset vows and a quiet moment soaking it all in, Esha and Karan made their way back to their guests to kick off the celebration—with a champagne tower, of course. It was the perfect symbol of their joy: overflowing, sparkling, and full of excitement. From that moment on, it was all laughter, dancing, and the kind of energy that only comes from being surrounded by people who truly love you
“I remember looking at Karan mid-toast and thinking—this is exactly how I always imagined it. Pure happiness,” — Esha
“We popped the champagne, raised a toast, and the party just came alive. It was electric,” — Karan
Photographed with Heart, by Hiraaya
At Hiraaya, we believe every love story deserves to be told in a way that feels true to who you are—not just how it looked, but how it felt. With Esha and Karan, it was about quiet glances, intentional choices, and big, joyful love. We’re so grateful to have been trusted with their story, and to preserve moments that they’ll hold close for a lifetime.
“We knew we needed someone who just got us—and team Hiraaya did exactly that. They captured the emotion, the fun, the softness, and the madness—every bit of it. We’ll treasure these memories forever,” — Esha
An Old Hollywood Night to Remember
If the wedding was all about softness and sentiment, the reception flipped the mood entirely—bold, glamorous, and full of drama. Hosted at Sun n Sand, the venue’s old-world charm provided the perfect canvas for Esha and Karan’s Old Hollywood-inspired celebration. The palette was moody and elegant—deep reds, blacks, and mirrored elements gave the night a cinematic edge.
“We wanted to bring the glam. Something sexy, something dramatic. It was a complete shift from the wedding, and it was so much fun to put together,” — Esha
There’s something effortlessly cool about grooms getting ready with their closest friends around. Karan’s room was full of quiet chaos—one friend steaming the suit, another adjusting his collar like it was mission critical.
They were so particular about every little detail—how much of the pocket square should show, how long the tie should be, whether the collar sat just right. At one point, they even made a makeshift lint roller by steaming a towel and pressing it over the suit to get rid of lint. Absolute jugaad kings, and we loved every second of it.
Outfits That Matched the Mood
Esha stunned in a midnight-to-ice ombré blue gown, custom-made by Rhea Pillai Rastogi. With a silhouette that was equal parts classic and daring, it was everything she had envisioned.
From First Dance to Full-On Dance Floor
The evening kicked off with heartfelt toasts, a beautifully styled cocktail bar with a French-themed menu, and a neon sign that read “It Started With a Kiss”—a cheeky nod to how their story began. Soon after, the dance floor came alive with friends, family, and endless celebration. From curated music to spontaneous dance-offs, it was the kind of night that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling.
“We just let loose. It was the kind of celebration we’d always imagined—no rules, just pure joy,” — Karan
