Rishabh & Patricia, Westin Dragonara, Malta - Part II

In the next chapter of Rishabh and Patricia's wedding story, we delve into the splendor of their Spanish and Indian ceremonies. Their wedding is a breathtaking fusion of cultures, showcasing the beauty of Spanish elegance and Indian vibrancy. It's a rare and enchanting sight to see people from different walks of life come together in such harmony, celebrating not just a union of two hearts, but a confluence of worlds.

If you haven’t read the first part, you can catch up here: Rishabh & Patricia, Westin Dragonara, Malta Part 1

Perched atop the stunning Lower Barakka Gardens, also known as the Saluting Battery, Patricia and Rishabh’s wedding unfolded against one of Malta’s most breathtaking backdrops. A historic artillery site, this venue not only gave guests panoramic views of the Grand Harbour but also made for an unforgettable setting where love and history intertwined.

The day began with a very hungover Rishabh stepping out of his room, only to realize—it’s morning, and it’s his wedding day. Meanwhile, Patricia and the girls were already getting ready, sharing laughter and playful banter, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. As the cloudy morning unfolded in Malta, Rishabh got ready with his closest friends—a wedding party that felt more like a brotherhood. Laughter, last-minute tie adjustments, and a toast to the day ahead set the perfect tone for what was to come.

Meanwhile, Patricia and her bridesmaids got ready together, filling the room with laughter, last-minute touch-ups, and the shared excitement of the day. Watching them, I was instantly reminded of my hostel days—those moments of getting ready for big occasions, where the space was filled with chatter, borrowed accessories, and the kind of effortless bonding that happens when you're surrounded by your closest friends.

What made this scene even more striking was the color palette that naturally fell into place—the bridesmaids in flowing shades of green, the warm pink walls of the venue, and Patricia in her pristine white wedding dress. It was as if the setting had been designed just for this moment, with the colors complementing each other so seamlessly that every frame looked like a painting.

A Pause Before the Vows

As they reached the venue, Rishabh met his mom outside the venue, sharing a quiet moment before their entrance. Meanwhile, Patricia met her dad, both savoring their own emotions while staying hidden from Rishabh—he wanted the first glimpse of her in her wedding dress to be when she walked down the aisle.

As guests settled in, the entrance procession began—a burst of music, dancing, and heartfelt speeches followed, with Patricia’s father introducing the ceremony in Spanish and Rishabh’s father translating, making the moment even more meaningful.

One of the most unforgettable highlights? The toasts that followed, each punctuated by the dramatic firing of a cannon! The reactions were priceless, making for a spectacular memory that no one saw coming.

From the emotional vows to the grand toasts, and of course, the delicious Paella served by Corinthia Caterers, every detail of the Spanish wedding was a celebration of culture, love, and new beginnings.

Haldi

The Haldi brunch was meant to be a relaxed affair, but it quickly turned into something else—a full-blown celebration. While some guests chose to sleep in and save their energy for the evening, those who showed up came ready to bring the vibe.

Beer replaced coffee, and light music gave way to a high-energy party. Some guests had never really stopped celebrating from the night before, rolling straight into this event without missing a beat.

And then, of course, came the Haldi itself. What started as a tradition soon turned into a wild scene—colors flying, laughter echoing, and Rishabh’s outfit ultimately becoming a casualty. By the end of it, his clothes were ripped apart, and the celebration was in full swing.

If this was just the daytime event, the rest of the wedding was bound to be unforgettable.

Indian Wedding: A Celebration of Love & Chaos

If the Spanish wedding was about timeless elegance, the Indian wedding was about unfiltered joy. The shift was almost cinematic—Malta, which had seen vows exchanged in the tranquil Saluting Battery, was now bursting with the sounds of dhols, laughter, and the electric energy of a celebration in full swing.
