An Intimate Celebration of Love: Jaiti & Mahesh’s Wedding at Gallops

A Love That Found Its Way Home
What happens when your childhood best friend turns into the love of your life? For Jaiti and Mahesh, it meant skipping the awkward dating phase, diving straight into endless conversations, and sealing the deal within six months! Their wedding was not just a celebration but a testament to a love that had always been right there. They envisioned a celebration where their closest friends and family played an active role, making every moment uniquely theirs.

Getting Ready: Chaos, Laughter & Happy Tears

Jaiti’s wedding morning was like a film set—full of emotions, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. Her mom was her steady support, making sure everything was on point, while her friends barged in with their high energy, turning the bridal vanity van into a pre-party of its own. Between outfit checks, last-minute lipstick touch-ups, dupatta pin ups, and spontaneous bursts of giggles, the excitement was electric.

Meanwhile, Mahesh was off on his own adventure. Ever the hands-on groom, he stepped out of his vanity to do a final decor inspection—because why not? Once satisfied that everything looked “wedding-ready”, he got back, had his safa tied, and geared up for the Baraat.

Then came Jaiti’s dad, walking in like a typical father expecting the usual, “Bas 10 minutes aur”. But to his surprise (and mild disbelief), Jaiti was fully ready. His reaction? A mix of awe, emotion, and a single tear he quickly tried to blink away. Because seeing his little girl as a bride? That hit differently.

A Wedding That Felt Like Them

From the beginning, Jaiti took the lead in planning, ensuring everything was executed to perfection. A self-proclaimed go-getter, she thrived on bringing her vision to life, while Mahesh, her biggest cheerleader, supported her every step of the way. Despite his love for his work making wedding planning a challenge (a running joke between them!), their combined efforts resulted in a wedding that was both intimate and grand.

Their love for the outdoors led them to choose Gallops Racecourse as their wedding venue. Mahesh had always imagined their big day there, and when the time came, it felt like the most natural choice.

One of the most special parts was taking Jaiti’s portraits near the towering trees of Gallops. I have always been fascinated by these living relics of Mumbai’s forested past. They stood tall and timeless, making for a stunning, meaningful backdrop as Jaiti posed among them, her bridal glow matching the golden afternoon light filtering through the leaves.

Since the decorators were ahead of schedule (a rare blessing in weddings!), we took Jaiti out for her bridal portraits at the venue before the madness of the day kicked in. She stepped out of her vanity, ready to go, when her dad caught sight of her—and immediately tossed his cigarette aside. Jaiti just smiled and kept walking, his gaze following her until she disappeared from view. We captured some truly stunning solo portraits of her and some heartwarming moments with her parents.

The First Look

Just as we wrapped up, our team shooting on Mahesh’s side called us—Mahesh wanted to see Jaiti before heading to the baraat. We asked Jaiti, and she agreed. The moment Mahesh laid eyes on her, it was as if he was seeing her for the first time all over again. He looked at her like she was the best decision he had ever made (or some less cheesy, equally sweet line). Their private first look was pure magic, a quiet moment before the wild celebrations began.

Baraat

The baraat was nothing short of a blockbuster entry. Picture this: Mahesh in a vintage car, his squad dancing like there’s no tomorrow, and the whole vibe lifted by Pahari beats as a nod to his Uttarakhand roots. The music was so good, it didn’t just stay at the wedding—it’s now a regular feature on our office playlist. No regrets!

We asked Mahesh about the most unforgettable moment of the wedding

Without hesitation, he said—seeing Jaiti walk down the aisle in her wedding lehenga, looking like everything he had imagined and more.

Joota Chupai Madness

Jaiti’s friends and cousins took the Joota Chupai to another level—brutal, relentless, and leaving Mahesh completely blindsided! He never saw it coming, and the negotiating process was just as intense as the ritual itself, making it one of the most hilarious and unforgettable moments of the wedding.

The Ceremony: A Moment Just for Them

Jaiti’s parents escorted Mahesh to the mandap for his pre-wedding rituals, setting the stage for the most awaited moment—Jaiti’s entrance. This time, it was her brothers who had the honor of accompanying her to the mandap. Even though Mahesh had just met her, hugged her, and exchanged garlands with her barely five minutes ago, he still looked absolutely giddy when he saw her again.

As the ceremony unfolded around them, Jaiti and Mahesh seemed to forget the world. They sat there, catching up like it was just another quiet evening together—laughing, chatting, and lost in their own little world, completely oblivious to everything happening around them. It was one of those rare, unscripted moments where they got lost in their own little bubble, enjoying each other’s company while the wedding continued around them.

As the sacred vows were recited, the pheras carried an air of serenity and tradition. Each round around the fire held significance, yet what stood out most was how Jaiti and Mahesh kept exchanging glances, soft smiles, and quiet words between the verses. The priest’s chants, the fragrance of flowers, and the crackling of the sacred fire created the perfect backdrop to this moment that felt both monumental and deeply personal. Their families watched, some smiling, some throwing flowers, while friends cheered, laughed, and playfully showered them with petals, as two lives intertwined in the most timeless way possible.

Cocktail: A Night to Remember

With the pheras done and the formalities wrapped up, it was finally time to let loose. The post-wedding cocktail was a perfect contrast to the wedding’s intimate moments—an evening of relaxed laughter, clinking glasses, and dancing with zero inhibitions. Jaiti swapped her lehenga for a glamorous gown, while Mahesh suited up in a sharp tux.

I was particularly enjoying shooting Jaiti in her glam outside in the parking area when she stepped out of her vanity, waiting for Mahesh. Had Mahesh not taken five more minutes to practice his first dance, I wouldn’t have gotten these portraits. The setting, the lighting—it was giving Vanity Fair. And their portrait, which I hurriedly took because they were massively late, turned out to be one of my absolute favorites from this wedding.

They had a beautiful first dance, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The father-daughter dance followed, leaving hardly a dry eye in the room. And then, as if on cue, their friends stormed the dance floor, turning the night into an unforgettable party. It was a celebration in every sense, the perfect way to close the night on a high note.

Jaiti’s Favorite Moment

Dancing the night away with Mahesh, surrounded by the people who mean the world to them.

Jaiti and Mahesh’s wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of love, friendship, and the little moments that make a lifetime of happiness. And in the midst of all the chaos, laughter, and dance, they found their forever in each other.

Here’s what Jaiti had to say about her experience with us:

“Aayushi and her team were the best choice we made for our wedding. She was professional, personal, and incredibly intuitive — seamlessly working with all vendors and rituals so that every special moment was captured perfectly. She understood our vibe and brought it to life in her photography. Honestly, I have no words, Aayushi — you penned down our wedding day and emotions so beautifully. We love you so much! PS: hands down, the best wedding videographer with the warmest heart. Absolutely recommend Hiraaya to every couple!
